March 24, 2020 Meeting - CANCELLED

Please take notice that the Oceanport Planning Board Meeting scheduled for March 24, 2020 has been cancelled as a result of prevention/management/control issues associated with the Coronavirus. The March 24, 2020 Agenda had included, but was not necessarily limited to, the following items:

  •     Adoption of Minutes/Resolutions Petitions from the Public:
  • Christine Grimley Application 8 Fairfield Avenue Oceanport, NJ; Block 125, Lot 4.02

             Bulk variance  request to  install a pergola

  • MSA at 64 Main St, LLC 64 Main Street Oceanport, NJ; Block 116, Lot 25

             Variance relief to renovate an existing two-family  structure

  • Portion of the Fort Monmouth Properties Block 110, Lots 1 & 4

            Preliminary investigation to determine if the said area, or a portion                  thereof, is an area in need of redevelopment

 

The above-referenced items will be carried to the April 28, 2020   Oceanport Planning Board Meeting at 7:30 pm. The meeting will take place in the Maple Place School, 2 Maple Place, Oceanport, NJ.

Other Applications/items may be placed on the April 28, 2020 Agenda as well.  Formal action may be taken.

Residents are encouraged to monitor the Municipal website/bulletins for further notices/updates.

Planning Board Information

The Planning Board is an eleven member Board (includes two alternate members) who are responsible for generating and updating Oceanport's Master Plan. The Master Plan is a comprehensive plan intended to guide and control the current and long-range development and land use within the Town. The Board serves as a combined Planning and Zoning Board of Adjustment.

PLANNING BOARD APPROVAL

Planning Board approval is required prior to the subdivision of land within the Borough of Oceanport as well as for any development involving any new building other than one or two-family dwellings, any new addition to an existing building other than one or two-family dwellings, any change in use of an existing building, any new off-street parking area and any land disturbance involving an area of 1,000 square feet or more, including excavation, soil removal, land filling or site clearance. 

Since the Oceanport Planning Board serves as a combined Planning and Zoning Board of Adjustment pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:55D-25c., application must also be made to the Planning Board for relief from the strict application of the zoning and land use ordinances of the Borough as well as appeals from the decision of the Borough's Zoning Officer.
